All the important newspapers in southern India  prominently carried out news related to the TN State convention of Janata Party. This  convention was held oin Coimbatore, as reported earlier on this blog.

TN Janata Party State Convention

Janata Party's Tamil Nadu unit held the stae convention on 2nd October at Coimbatore. President  Dr.Subramanian Swamy was Chief guest and inaugurated the convention. The stat convention was presided over by TN Staet JP President Ms VS Chandralekha. JP's national general secretary Mr Jagdish Shetty was special guest at the function .

Lok Sabha mid-term polls by March next: Subramanian Swamy

Coimbatore: There is all possibility of mid-term elections to the Lok Sabha by February-March next and the ruling Congress dispensation would lose badly, Janata Party national president Subramanian Swamy claimed on Tuesday.

Considering the present situation, there would be mid-term polls to the Lok Sabha in February or March next, he said while briefing reporters on the deliberations of the party's TamilNadu State General Council meeting, here.

Dealing with rampant corruption and tackling internal and external terrorism would be the major planks during the election campaign of the party, which has recently joined BJP-led NDA, he said.

Asked about the possibility of emergence of a Third front, particularly by allies from UPA, Swamy said, it was not practical at this juncture.

To a question on the remarks of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to bring a no-trust motion against UPA government and UPA ally DMK saying it would back any opposition-sponsored resolution in Parliament against allowing FDI in multi-brand retail, Swamy said, "This is the most hopeless Government. It must go as early as possible."

FDI in retail would seriously affect the livelihood of crores of small traders as they would not be able to compete with foreigners, he said.

However, Swamy said, he was not aware about the note prepared by NDA on FDI, as claimed by Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, since he was not part of the alliance at that time.

Swamy also said Government owed an explanation on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's allegation about details of expenditure incurred for Congress President Sonia Gandhi's foreign travels.

Modi had yesterday alleged that according to a media report, Rs 1,880 crore were spent on travel and treatment of Gandhi. However, the Gujarat Chief Minister had offered to tender a public apology hours after making the allegation if his charge was found to be false

कहां है समाजवादी नेता और समाजवाद ?

जनता पार्टी के सदस्य सिबिन हरीदास ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया में लिखा है कि भारत को एक सशक्त समाजवादी नेता की आवश्यकता है और हमें बिखरे हुए समाजवादियों को एकत्र करने का प्रयास करना चाहिये .

 मैने इसका उत्तर दे दिया ,फिर मुझे लगा कि यह वास्तव में एक बड़ा प्रश्न है और इस पर बहस होना चाहिये.

सभी मुद्दों को समेटना एक टिप्पणी में सम्भव नहीं है और  मैं इसे समय समय पर पूरा करूंगा. सबसे पहले कहां हैं समाजवादी नेता ?

1950 के बाद लोकनायक जय प्रकाश नारायण, आचार्य नरेन्द्र देव, आचार्य कृपलानी, बाद में डा. राम मनोहर लोहिया, चन्द्रशेखर ,मधु लिमये, मधु दंडवते, कृष्णकांत, मोहन धारिया, प्रमिला दंडवते, राजनारायण,मृनाल गोरे आदि के अतिरिक्त बाद की पीढी में सत्य प्रकाश मालवीय, जनेशवर मिश्र, मुलायम सिंह,राम विलास पास्वान, मोहन सिंह, बृज भूशण तिवारी, लालू प्रसाद ,नितिश कुमार, सुषमा स्वराज आदि सभी समाज्वादी आन्दोलन की पृष्ठ भूमि से ही राजनीति में आये. इनमें से कई बडे नेताओं ने अपने अपने गुट बनाये .कारण वही कि समाजवादियों के बारे में कहा जाता रहा है कि यह एक वर्ष अलग नहीं रह सकते,अत: इकट्ठे  हो जाते है,परंतु एक वर्ष साथ नहीं रह सकते इसलिये अलग हो जाते हैं .

यह संगठन और टूटन बदस्तूर जारी रही और अब जब कि भारत में यह आन्दोलन समाप्त प्राय ही है,और समाजवादी विचार्धारा के लोग सभी पार्टियों में बिखरे हुए हैं,और एक नीति के रूप में उनका महत्व भी कम हो गया है.

समाजवाद के नाम पर इस समय बड़ी पार्टी है मुलायम सिंह की समाजवादी पार्टी जो पिछले बीस वर्षों से अस्तित्व में है.  परंतु यह कितनी समाजवादी है ,यह सभी जानते हैं . कभी अमर सिंह इसी समाजवादी पार्टी के प्रमुख चेहरे थे.

अवश्य इस मुद्दे पर लम्बी बहस की जा सकती है, परंतु इस समय मैं मात्र एक बात कहना चाहता हूं. लोहिया को अपना नेता मानने वाले मुलायम सिंह लोहिया के सिद्धांतों का कितना पालन कर रहे हैं,सबके सामने है.

डा. लोहिया परिवार वाद के नितांत खिलाफ थे ,उन्होने नेहरू के समाजवाद की जम कर खिंचाई की. आज लोहिया के चेले मुलायम सिंह की पार्टी में सिर्फ परिवार वाद का ही बोलबाला है. उनके भाई राम गोपाल यादव सपा में महासचिव हैं, दूसरे भाई शिव पाल  उ.प्र. सरकार मे वरिष्ठ मंत्री हैं और बेटा मुख्य मंत्री है. बहू कन्नौज से सांसद है, भतीजा धरमेन्द्र यादव भी सांसद है, अब एक और भतीजे को फिरोज़ाबाद से प्रत्याशी घोषित किया गया है.  यह है लोहिया के सिद्धांतों की पार्टी ?

Take steps to protect strategic monazite reserves: Swamy to PM

Janata Party President DR.  Subramanian Swamy has demanded that steps should be taken to protect and conserve strategic reserves of monazite sands in south India -- a major source of thorium.

In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Dr. Swamy claimed there have been some cases of illicit exports of such sands from southern India and cases in this regard have been pending in courts.
"Protection of the strategic mineral sands should be entrusted to a joint command of Central Paramilitary or better still Armed Forces to overcome the present intolerable situation of private mafias controlling access," he said

Swamy stands by Kudan Kulam Plant

Accusing the agitationist against Kudankulam  nuclear power plant as sponsored by anti-India forces, Dr Swamy has urged the Indian Government to ignore the 'sponsored' opposition to the plant. He expressed these views earlier in the media through press statement and recently reiterated the views when he participated in a TV channel debate. We provide here the links .

Swamy slams Centre for misleading India

The judgment of SC is being interpreted wrongly by Congressmen ,says Dr Swamy,Janata Party President. The nation knows Dr Subramanian Swamy as   a crusader against corruption.

 

  Janata Party President Dr. Subramanian Swamy  has accused the UPA Government and the union ministers  of “misleading” the country on the opinion given by the Supreme Court on the Presidential Reference.

Dr. Swamy  termed as “blatant lies” the claims made by Union Ministers P Chidambaram, Salman Khurshid and Kapil Sibal about the outcome of the apex court’s opinion on auction of natural resources and accused the ministers of deliberately trying to confuse the public.

Taking a dig at the ‘poor’ knowledge of legal; issues ,Swamy called them ‘legal illiterates’. “I doubt the law degrees of these three persons. I urge them to go back to law school, as they seem to have forgotten the basic things taught in law schools. The Congress party’s Disinformation Team seems desperate to make out that the Supreme Court opinion was supportive of the corrupt policies of the UPA.”

“This Team fails to refer to the three pillars of this opinion: 1. Full backing for the finality of the 2G licence cancellation judgment and holding of auction for future spectrum allotment. 2. That for maximisation of revenue auction is the best policy. 3. Government has no unfettered power to execute any policy it deems fit. If a policy including auction is shown to have been framed arbitrarily unreasonably mala fide or illegally then the courts will strike it down,” said Swamy in a statement.

Dr.Swamy challenged the ministers for an open debate with him on the issue.
